From 14 until 18 February, we celebrate the international Love Data Week! At UHasselt, the entire week will be focused on managing sensitive (e.g. personal, confidential, genetic, …) data during and after a research project. Sign up for one or more of our sessions via our training calendar!
We will kick off with a panel discussion with Niel Hens (DSI), Lotte Geys (BIOMED), Michelle Plusquin (CMK) and Koen Van Laer (BEW), moderated by the director of the Research Coordination Office Sadia Vancauwenbergh. Our researchers will discuss their experiences with sensitive data in their research projects and/or daily work practice and share their views on sensitive data management.
Next, we will give various interactive training sessions on the basics of sensitive data (what? whom to contact? which steps to take?), on the impact of working with sensitive data on your data management (plan) and on good practices to secure your sensitive data. Knowledge clips on the GDPR checklist, informed consent and the ethical committees will be made available online and can be discussed during our Q&A session.
Love (Sensitive) Data Week is organised by the RDM support team together with Stephanie Ruysschaert (RRI & GDPR expert) and Debbie Melissas (legal expert).
