4.3 Search tip: Use citation data!

Citation data often play an important role in literature research. Databases such as Web of Science and Google Scholar directly indicate at the search results if these have been cited by other (more recent) documents ("cited by..."). Here you can left-click to directly go to citing references that could also be relevant to your research.

Often citation data is also used as an indication of the quality of journals or of scientific output (see module 5).
