A-to-Z list e-books

The A-to-Z list of e-books contains all electronic books available at Hasselt University. It discloses the Academic Complete collection from ProQuest, but also a large set of open access e-books including the World Bank Open Knowledge Repository and the InTech Open Access Books.
The A-to-Z list contains more than 163.000 unique titles. You can search an e-book by name/isbn or filter on subject. For each e-book you get at least one link to the electronic version.
Attention: the legal e-books from Jurisquare and Strada lex are not incorporated.

ACM Digital Library

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Digital Library is a full-text database covering the fields of computing and information technology and includes the complete collection of ACM's publications, including journals, conference proceedings, magazines, newsletters, and multimedia titles.

Art & Architecture Source is a full-text art research database covering fine, decorative and commercial art, as well as architecture and architectural design. ASSER series

The Asser series is the most important source of civil law in the Netherlands. The complete Asser series (+30 volumes) is available in book form in Law Library Limburg, but can also be consulted online in Kluwer Navigator via Maastricht University.
To log in on Kluwer Navigator: click on "Login voor WO/HBO" and then choose Maastricht University. Next click on "uitgaven" and then on "Asser-serie".

At the start of their first academic year law faculty students will receive a visitors card for the Maastricht University Library as well as an UM-account to get access to their electronic sources, even from home. The UM-card and the UM-account remain valid as long as these students are connected to Hasselt University.
More information about the UM-card can be found on https://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/nl/file/3484/download?token=QMtrRyRl (pdf). In case of problems with your UM-account, it is best to contact the ICTS-servicedesk of Maastricht University (Servicedesk-ICTS@maastrichtuniversity.nl or 0031 (0)43 388 5555). In order to reset your UM-account, you will need to add a copy of your identity card.

Bloomsbury Applied Visual Arts

Bloomsbury Applied Visual Arts is a comprehensive online resource offering access to over 170 books that combine visual information with practical advice on idea generation, portfolio development and research techniques across the main visual arts disciplines. It contains information for multiple fields of practice, including: Architecture and Interiors, Fashion and Textiles, Design and Illustration, Photography, Film and Media, Marketing and Advertising.

Business Source Complete

Business Source Complete contains more than 3.800 full-text journals, including nearly 2.000 peer-reviewed journals. It covers all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, accounting, banking, finance, and more. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial data, books, monographs, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, industry reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles, and SWOT analyses.

Dalloz-bibliotheque.fr

Dalloz-Bibliotheque.fr is a French (language) legal database of digital works in private and public law. It offers online access to more than 2500 digital works from the major Dalloz collections in their latest edition: Dalloz codes, university textbooks (Précis, Cours, HyperCours, Lexiques…), revision works (Mementos, Aide-Mémoire…) or professional works (Dalloz Action, Encyclopédie Delmas…).

To start your search, click on “connexion” in the upper right corner. Once on the Dalloz Library platform, click on “Consulter l’ouvrage” at the top right of the page to access the full text of the books. The consultation is done by browsing and all the books are printable and downloadable.

Directory of Open Access Books

The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a searchable index of academic, peer-reviewed books that have been published under an open access license. Includes links to the full-text books on the publishers' websites. Publishers must meet the requirements for Open Access and peer review in order to have their books indexed in DOAB.

Ebook Central

Ebook Central is a multidisciplinary e-book platform that provides Hasselt University access to more than 150.000 titles, dealing with among others ‘arts & architecture’, ‘business’, ‘law’, ‘health & medicine’ and ‘science & technology’. Hasselt University has unlimited, multi-user access. You can read all e-books online but it is also possible to download them on your local device.

You are prompted to sign in in order to be able to use all functionalities of Ebook Central. There are a lot of training video's available. To download a complete e-book (during two weeks) you must first install some free software (Adobe Digital Editions) or a free app (Bluefire Reader). A short video tutorial shows the downloadprocedure step by step. However, when you just download pages or chapters, you get a PDF file that doesn't expire.

Human Kinetics Library
