EUR-Lex provides free access to European Union law and other documents considered to be public. The content is divided into sectors: 1 – Treaties, 2 – International agreements, 3 – Legislation, 4 – Complementary legislation, 5 – Preparatory acts, 6 – Case-law, 7 – National transposition measures, 8 – References to national case-law concerning EU law, 9 – Parliamentary questions, 0 – Consolidated acts, C – Other documents published in the Official Journal C series, E – EFTA documents.

Legislative procedures are also part of the EUR-Lex database. Follow the life cycle of a particular legislative proposal from the moment it is launched until it becomes law. You can also view the documents involved, details about the stage of the procedure, the decisions by each institution, the departments responsible, etc

You will receive your UM student number + password, to consult the e-sources to which Maastricht University subscribes, by e-mail at the beginning of the (first) academic year. The UM login data will remain valid as long as you are affiliated with Hasselt University. In case of problems with your UM log-in data: contact Servicedesk-ICTS@maastrichtuniversity.nl or 0031(0)43 388 5555.

If you want physical access to Maastricht University's library, you can request a UM library card at umcard@maastrichtuniversity.nl, accompanied by your date of birth and a passport photo. The Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) is the main source of EUR-Lex content. It is published daily in the official EU languages. Strada lex Europe

Strada lex Europe constitutes a comprehensive documentary package with regard to European law. It assembles and organises, in a single website, all significant pieces of legislation, jurisprudence and doctrine, classified by large branches of European law, i.e. nearly a million documentary references in French and in English. The various contents are permanently updated.

The reviews and monographs from several publishers, as well as the main official public sources, are available.

Strada lex Europe covers the European legal order, the European institutional framework, European litigation, all the European domestic policies, European foreign policies and the European civil service.
